MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Northeastern baseball team (12-10-1, 0-2 CAA) tallied nine runs between the fourth and fifth innings but it wasn't enough to down the College of Charleston (14-9, 2-0 CAA) in game two of their weekend series at Patriots Point.

- For the second game in a row, the Huskies were unable to place a runner on base in the first inning while Charleston was able to get on the scoreboard in the opening frame.
- The Cougars were able to tally five runs in the opening frame to open up the game with a hefty lead.
- Charleston notched another two runs on a home run to lead 7-0 after three.
- The Husky bats responded in the fourth inning – after a walk and hit-by-pitch to Mike Sirota and Justin Bosland, Danny Crossen singled to center field to load the bases. The next better, Max Viera, hit an infield single to put the Huskies on the board, sending Sirota home from third.
- Two batters later Teddy Beaudet singled to center field, but it was deep enough to score Crossen and Bosland.
- Wrapping up the inning was Jeff Costello with a bases-clearing double to right field, cutting the Charleston lead to two.
- After the Husky defense retired the Cougars 1-2-3 in the bottom of the frame, Northeastern kept the offense going in the fifth – a single and a pair of hit by pitches loaded the bases with Bosland, Crossen, and Jack Doyle, respectively.
- A single to right-center field by Beaudet was able to score Bosland from third, cutting the lead to one.
- Jeff Costello met a new pitcher and hit another RBI double – his hit scored Doyle and Crossen to take the lead, 8-7.
- Luke Beckstein added the insurance a double, sending home Costello. The Huskies led 9-7 after four innings.
- Northeastern's defense looked strong during the rally innings, but Charleston was able to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth, and eventually take the lead on a solo home run in the seventh.
- The Cougars would snuff an attempted Husky rally with a four run bottom of the eighth, adding more insurance and giving the game its final score of 14-9.
- Sebastian Keane got the start on the mound and rebounded from Charleston's big first inning with six strikeouts to finish out his day.
