RICHMOND, Va. - Northeastern University freshman defensive midfielder
Thomas Vold was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week Monday morning after a milestone week for the first-year player.
Vold notched his first career goal on Tuesday, September 5 on a free kick by
Federico Tellez that rebounded off the goalie and fell to the feet of Vold who fired on the wide open net. Vold's goal made the score 2-0, and would count as the game-winner as the Huskies held on to win 2-1.
It's Northeastern's first weekly award of the season - three of the last four weekly awards for the program have all been Rookie of the Week honors dating back to two in the 2022 season.
The Huskies are back on the road this Tuesday, September 12 for a local match at Harvard University at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. They follow that up with a CAA match at William & Mary this Saturday at 1 p.m.
