Varsity Club Hall of Fame
Ann Lee Delano was inducted into the Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in the sports of field hockey and lacrosse.
As a member of the induction class of 1974, Delano was one of the original six inductees into the Northeastern Hall of Fame.
Delano was a former captain and outstanding player on both the U.S. National Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams, and an All America selection in both sports as well. A 1935 graduate, she is the past vice-president of the United States Field Hockey Association and the United States Women's Lacrosse Association. In field hockey, she was captain of the U.S. Touring Team that traveled to England, Scotland and the Netherlands in 1948. She was a Chairman of the 50th Anniversary United States Field Hockey Association. Her leadership skills were evident in volleyball as well, as she was captain of the U.S. Touring Team to Great Britain in 1951.
Delano has also written two books, one on Field Hockey published in 1967 and the other on Lacrosse and published in 1970. She received the Boston Bouve College Distinguished Alumni Award and was a member of the physical education department at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania.
