Donald J. Eason was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of baseball.

One of New England's greatest pitchers of his era, Eason spun a varsity record of 24-7 while taking the hill as a starter, short, middle and long reliever. Don, a left-handed hurler with pinpoint control, a painted fastball and a dazzling array of breaking balls, took the signals when he pitched from his twin brother Ron, a hard-hitting catcher for the Huskies. He was the Huskies number one starter and reliever from 1952 through 1955, and Northeastern's Most Valuable Player an unprecedented four consecutive seasons. Acclaimed as a starter, Eason was indispensable in relief. During one stretch in his junior year, Eason rescued five games in seven days, allowing no earned runs in 8 2/3 innings with 14 strikeouts. Such performances as his record setting 16 strikeout game versus America International, and a 3-hit shutout masterpiece over Boston College in his junior season were fresh on the minds of the scouts, and Don, along with his brother Ron, was signed to a professional contract with the Milwaukee Braves of the National League. Don played one year in the Braves system in Lawton, Oklahoma. He had an impressive 15-8 season and was second in the league in earned run average and strikeouts before being drafted into the Army just two weeks before the season ended.

In addition to receiving his degree in Business Administration from Northeastern in 1956, he also earned his MBA from the University in 1969.

He and his wife Mary are the proud parents of Douglas, Bruce and Michael, and they reside in Brockton, Mass.
