David G. Lister was elected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of crew.

Lister rowed for the Huskies when the sport was introduced to Northeastern athletics in 1965, and went on to become one of the program's guiding forces as President of the Northeastern University Alumni Rowing Association. He was captain of Northeastern's first ever freshman boat in '65 and garnered three varsity letters for crew through 1968, when he was named MVP of the sport. By the conclusion of the 1968 season, the Quincy, Mass. native had raised enough eyebrows of crew aficionados to receive an invitation to the 1968 Olympic Development Camp. During Lister's varsity career, Northeastern posted a 12-6 record in regattas against the best in the East.

Lister's energies were not confined to the shells and crew tanks of Northeastern, but rather spilled into many forms of extracurricular activity. In addition to running the NU Alumni Rowing Association, Lister is a past Vice President for crew in the Northeastern Varsity Club. He was a Freshman Crew Coach at Northeastern as a fifth year co-operative education student in 1969, when he graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He went on to become Department Coordinator for Health and Physical Education in the Duxbury Public School System.
