Joe Cash was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of football.

Before stepping on the football field for Northeastern, Cash spent three years in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then five in the Merchant Marines. After a year on the freshman team, Coach Joe Zabilski made Cash a starter at end on both sides of the football. Cash was a key ingredient on the undefeated 1951 team, including grabbing a 26-yard touchdown pass from Tinker Connelly for the winning score versus AIC. In 1952, Cash was selected captain and was awarded the Henry J. Pinney Award as New England's football unsung hero.

After Northeastern, Cash's success continued. After earning a B.A. in business administration, Cash earned his master's at Staley College in 1955. The Winthrop, Mass. native went on to teach mathematics in various public schools for nearly 30 years, and he also operated a party fishing boat business.
