Michael Prohodsky was elected to the Hall of Fame his achievements in track and cross country.

Prohodsky set long standing University mile and two mile records while establishing himself as one of the top distance runners of his era in the East. In 1941, he stunned the collegiate track world and captured a first for Northeastern athletics; Prohodsky won the IC4A indoor two mile championship, representing Northeastern's first individual title in that prestigious track and field event. He blossomed as a junior in 1941, when he smashed the indoor mile record that would stand until 1954 and set the two mile standard. He was also a member of Northeastern's two-mile relay team. Outdoors, Prohodsky set the mile and two mile records. Prohodsky captained the 1942 team that repeated the undefeated record of the previous season in indoor competition. Under Prohodsky's captaincy, the Huskies won every dual meet outdoors as well.

Some years after his graduation from Northeastern, the Northeastern varsity track community recognized Prohodsky's excellence on and off the track oval, when they elected him to the Track Club Hall of Fame (1971). Prohodsky graduated from Northeastern in 1942, and began a career as a civil service staff physicist in the Bureau of Ordinance in the Navy Department. He survived being hit by lightning while on board a barge in the Panama Canal.
