Salvatore P. Mazzocca was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sport of track.

Mazzocca earned track letters from 1950-52 and was a Dean's List student. During his track career at Northeastern, he excelled in the high jump, long jump and broad jump. His Northeastern records for the long jump and triple jump both indoors and outdoors lasted 25 years. He competed in three New England Outdoor Track Championships, winning three firsts and two seconds. In 1952 he placed second in the IC4A long jump with a distance of 23'11 3/4" which, at the time, ranked fourth in indoor world standings. Mazzocca dominated the New England AAU Championships both indoors and outdoors, finishing first in the long jump and triple jump for three years, In 1951, he won the National AAU outdoor triple jump with a distance of 50'7 1/2", the longest ever by an American at that time. At the United States Olympic Trials in 1952, he finished fourth to qualify as an alternate.

After Northeastern, Mazzocca went on to become the district manager of the American Income Life Insurance Company. He is a member of the Office Professional Employees International Union. A member of the Sandy Burr Club he was formerly on the Handicap Committee.
