Dorothy J. Sullivan, who has since passed away, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1975.

Sullivan graduated from Northeastern in 1935 and went on to a career of coaching, umpiring, teaching and a list of other athletic related activities. She became a leader in women's physical education. She was a national official of the U.S. Field Hockey Association for over 35 years. In 1963, she umpired at the International Conference of Field Hockey teams. She has been a prominent national basketball official and softball umpire. She also held the rank of National Rules Interpreter of the U.S. Field Hockey Association.

Sullivan went on to teach physical education and coach field hockey, softball and basketball at Milton Academy, beginning in 1947. In over thirty-years of coaching at Milton Academy, she suffered only two losing seasons.

When not coaching or teaching, Sullivan was a leading woman golfer, having taken home the South Shore Championship trophy seven times. In 1947 and 1951 she was a finalist in the Massachusetts State Championship. Her biggest accomplishment with the little white ball came in 1963 when she captured the crown to the Tournament of Champions.
