Oscar Khederian was elected to the Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sport of baseball.

Khederian was a slick fielding powerhitting infielder for the Huskies in the early years of World War II. A batting average that hovered in the high .360's for most of his career combined with a sure glove and eye opening throwing arm at the hot corner caught the attention of professional scouts. That diamond parlay also helped the Huskies gain second and first place, respectively in the New England Conference in 1941 and 1942, his sophomore and junior seasons. The draft forced Khederian into boot camp instead of a major league camp in the summer of 1942. After playing baseball for the Army Air Corps Team, he was signed by the Boston Braves in 1946 and played professional baseball for the next nine years. While with the Cincinnati Reds organization, Khederian played against the likes of Hank Aaron and Frank Robinson.

As a freshman at NU, he was the top homerun and RBI man. His sophomore season of 1941 saw him play nearly flawless ball at third base while hitting a lofty .365. As a junior, he continued his superb play while leading the Huskies to the New England Conference Championship.

Khederian retired from professional baseball at the age of 34. After retiring from the United States Postal Service he settled with his wife Barbara in Rowley, Mass. He has four children: Patricia, Audry, Vern and Stephen.
