Donald "Pete" Harris was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of basketball.

Harris graduated Northeastern as the school's all-time leading scorer and one of only five New England players to scale the 2,000 point plateau. Harris and Reggie Lewis are the only Huskies to score over 2,000 points. An explosive, fluid and inordinately strong 6'1, 165 pound guard, Harris was the Huskies floor general for four seasons and replaced fellow Hall of Famer Dave Caligaris as the team's go-to scorer. Harris developed into the cornerstone player behind the Huskies big surge as a Division I power. A Braddock, Pa. native, Harris played in 109 straight games and recorded double figures in all but three of those contests, establishing himself as one of the best shooting guards ever to play in the six-state area. Harris paved the way to Northeastern's first ever NCAA appearance in 1981, as the Huskies finished 24-6. In the Harris era, NU was a stunning 70-39. During his senior season of 1981, Harris struck for 30 points against Boston University, prompting then BU coach Rick Pitino to say, "I'd trade two recruiting years for him." Awards were abundant for Harris: Team MVP in 1979, '80 and '81, All ECAC and All New England.

In June of 1981, Harris was drafted by the Phoenix Suns. After a brief professional career, Harris joined the Federal Police in Washington, D.C. and became a member of the Pentagon's S.W.A.T. team.
