In 1981, the defensive powerhouse notched 10 interceptions, which ties for the second-most in a single season in program history. His 19 career interceptions rank third all-time in the NU record books.

In 1983, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) named Genetti to the Weekly Division I-AA Honor Roll for his six-tackle, two interception game against Springfield. The two-time captain was named Northeastern’s Most Valuable Player in 1981 and 1983.

He was a New England Gold Helmet award winner as a sophomore and earned All-New England and Honorable Mention All-American honors. Genetti also played in the prestigious Shriners All-Star Game in 1979, and graduated from Northeastern with a degree in criminal justice.
