Ronald A. Chambers was selected to the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sport of track and field.

A native of Jamaica, Chambers was a dominant figure in Eastern collegiate track in the jumping events in the latter half of the nineteen seventies. Northeastern won four straight New England indoor titles from 1976 to 1979, and it was no coincidence that Chambers contributed a steady diet of points in the jumping events, as well as the relays and dash, for which he was a former Greater Boston Champion. As a team, the Irwin Cohen-coached Huskies flaunted success in a time frame when stars were the norm at NU. Northeastern's track ledger in the Chamber era read 21-1 indoors, with three Greater Boston Conference titles and four New England championships, and 20-1 outdoors, with three GBC titles and three NE wreaths. Chambers won the New England triple jump crown as a freshman, sophomore and senior, finishing second as a junior due to an injury. He also captured the long jump crown as a sophomore and junior.

Chambers did not limit his track exploits to United States soil. He barely missed qualifying for the 1976 Montreal Olympics in the long jump. In June of 1978 Chambers participated in the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton. He also participated for the Jamaican flag several times in the Central American Games. He carried home a bronze medal in the long jump and triple jumps in the Central America Games in July of his junior year at Northeastern.
