Wallace F. Sullivan was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in the sports of basketball and baseball.

Sullivan was a powerhitter for the baseball team and a three-year varsity basketball guard renowned for his defensive, playmaking and rebounding prowess. In baseball, he played all three outfield positions while earning the reputation as one of the East's best all around players. During Sullivan's senior season of 1942, which he was captain, the Huskies finished 12-3. He was named All New England as a sophomore, when he hit .345. He improved that average to a New England best of .371 and continued his superb play right field. Sullivan prepped for each baseball season with a full gallop on the hardwood, as a tenacious guard. He was rated one of the best small rebounders in New England, and was indispensable as a defensive specialist for three varsity seasons.

Baseball was Sullivan's domain though, and he would routinely parlay varsity collegiate ball with summers in the prestigious New England League. Only World War II and his draft status stood between "Sully" and a professional baseball contract. The ambidextrous Sullivan nonetheless played against major league caliber athletes in the Army League during the war years, and after the armistice returned to Boston for his teaching certificate. He subsequently taught and coached baseball and basketball at Aldrich High School in Warwick, Rhode Island.
