Paul G. Solberg was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sport of basketball.

Solberg earned three varsity basketball letters and one baseball letter. At only 5'8, Solberg was the mastermind behind some of Northeastern's most successful teams. In both his junior and senior seasons (1962 and 1963) the Huskies won the NCAA District I College Division Tournament and a spot in the national championships, where they were defeated in the quarter final round. In both District I Championships, Solberg was named to the All-Tournament team and in the 1962 tournament was voted the MVP. The 1962 team finished the season with a 17-8 record. The 1963 team was 21-6. In both 1962 and '63, he was the recipient of the Northeastern Alumni Award as the team's MVP. He was selected for the 1962 and 1963 All New England and Little All America teams. Solberg played in all 72 games during his three varsity seasons and finished his career with a double figure average. He scored a career total of 882 points, which ranked him third all-time when he graduated.

After graduation, he remained at the University for five years as the assistant coach of basketball. He went on to become president of Minuteman Sales, Inc., a manufacturers' representative. He is also a member of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce and served as vice president of the Northeastern Varsity Club.
