Eugene C. Renzi was inducted into the Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sports of football and track and field.

Renzi was a first team All America as an offensive and defensive tackle and a two time Greater Boston League shot put champion. Renzi established himself as one of the nation's superb blockers on offense and pass rushers on defense. Within the track oval, he displayed his natural athletic ability in the shot, discuss and javelin, setting the record in the former on several occasions.

Renzi played on three football squads that came up with a record of 14-5-1. He earned All Greater Boston and All New England honors for three years, All East and Little America honors for two seasons and in his senior year, was voted both captain of the 1955 Huskies and All America.

The leadership role at Northeastern served to vault Renzi into high level administration in a leadership capacity at the United States Pentagon. Renzi went on to become the chief of Crisis Management and Contingency Support in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. While with the U.S. Army as a Company Commander in the early 1960's, Renzi played on the very last of the renowned U.S. Army football teams outfitted at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey and locally at For Devins.

Renzi has also been active with amateur sports in Virginia, where he was the Commissioner of Youth Football in Fairfax County for the YMCA and was a member of the amateur football and track and field organizations within that state.
